A Camping Mother's Day Weekend

Friday night we headed out to Clinton lake and joined John (seph's uncle) and a friend of his. I wasn't going to go until Saturday but I had a horrible day on Friday and it was gorgeous outside so I didn't feel like staying home alone. But, I didn't know the other wive's weren't going to go out there until Saturday either. So, it was just me, Emily and the guys Friday night. She did alright and really was happy most all the time she was awake (even if it was 11pm at the poker table). Of course, the pack n play did not get a lot of use, but all in all we managed on little sleep. We enjoyed the beautiful (PERFECT) weather on Saturday along with some great company. With not so good naps on Saturday and me not getting much sleep on Friday night I decided we might be better off heading home for a good nights sleep on Saturday so that is just what Emily, Roxi and I did! Seph stayed to bring in the trout lines and pack up the campsite ;-)

I have really had an enjoyable mothers day. It started with a perfect lazy morning with Emily "talking" and playing in bed - my favorite times with her are first thing in the mornings. Seph came home around noon and we had a nice afternoon together as a family. Seph cooked a great steak dinner and I got some gift cards for some new clothes (our plan is to go to the Plaza next weekend for dinner at the Melting Pot too) YUM!

So, you might be asking where the pictures are?!? Ha ha - well, I did BRING the camera, but the battery was DEAD when I went to use it. So...we "hired" Seph's aunt Amy to document Emily's first camping trip (stay tuned).

Oh, and Emily has started "rocking" on all fours - and definately gets where she wants to go via rolling, scooting, bending, turning, etc. She discovered the sound "da-da-da" so we are hearing a lot of that these days ;-)
