Hanna and I were a bit nervous about an ORANGE flower girl dress when we ordered it. We sort of decided together taking a risk on such a BOLD and unique idea. And man oh man could it have been more perfect!?! I mean, the flowers, the colors, the tuxes, the bridesmaid dresses. Everything LOOKED AMAZING! I still can't get over how well it all turned out. A gorgeous July day in Blue Springs, MO - didn't even hit 80 degrees!!!
Emily Jo did fantastic during pictures in the afternoon then about 30 minutes before the ceremony she was spiraling out of control. I could hear the whines increasing and the thumb sucking was becoming more frequent. Hunger and tiredness had set in. I did feed her a fiber one bar (her favorite) but something tells me that just wasn't enough to take the edge off. She walked the aisle and when her basket was empty with a quarter of the way left to go she just turned it over and looked at the groom like "what do you want me to do now" and then ZOOM straight to MOM at the alter. The plan and thought was she would stay up there and be interested in the wedding and watching Brandon and Hanna. Well - not so much - Seph quickly whisked her out of the publics eye and that was the end of the Emily Jo battle - LOL!

We are all so honored to have been a part in such a wonderfully special day to Brandon and Hanna. We hope they are having a blast on their honeymoon in Dominican Republic. For those that don't know, they are our neighbors that we have known for over 4 years. I was a bridesmaid, Seph, an usher and Emily Jo a Flower Girl - so much fun! They have seen our family grow and we have watched their relationship blossom from the beginning. They are very special friends to us that I know we'll keep in touch with through the journey of life. CONGRATULATIONS to the new BRIDE AND GROOM, Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Hickel!!!
