Audrey EEG Results

The results of the EEG came back "normal".  Which really means there were no seizure activities detected during the test.  It does not rule it out.  I tell you, I struggle with pushing for answers and pursuing why she continues to have these "stare offs / absences".  How necessary is it for us to know that she is having them?  The support group I am in for OMA all say if their child exhibited similar behavior that eventually they out grew it.  So, with that information even if I learned that she was having these minor seizures (there is some medical term for the type they could be, but I can't remember off the top of my head)....I seriously doubt I would choose to have her medicated in any fashion.  Unless of course, they worsened.

I obviously have talked to Dr. LePichon (her neurolgist) this week and shared with him that her teachers report about once a day Audrey will get "hung up" if you will on something.  Whether it be throwing something away, getting her jacket, or a book - and it seems to be one of those three scenarios - where she just stops in her tracks and repeats a single word "trash, trash, trash".....

He did order a 2 to 3 day in-patient epilepsy / seizure monitor study for her.  It is what he most recommends.  However, he also said the main reason is that they are currently scheduling out into January for this right now and that we won't get a call to get it scheduled until December.  SO....that does give us time to document the occurrences in a diligent way - both at school and home - and then come December when we get the call Seph and I can make the decision to have it done or not based on the data.

Other than these episodes Audrey continues to advance and make progress, especially her vocabulary.  Her popular sayings are "MINE", "I DID IT", "MmmO" (aka NO).  She loves to dance and play with puzzles and her stacker toy.  And is very good at them I might add.  Keeping up with Emily Jo continues to be her best form of therapy and therefore we have slowed down on the "formal" therapy because I just feel I wasn't getting a ton from the sessions.  But she is still enrolled and approved for them if I feel she needs  a session I will get one scheduled.

Audrey would not get off the rink!  She LOVED roller skating at big sister's birthday party!
