Audrey Upcoming Low Vision Evaluation

This Friday we will be going to the Kansas School for the Blind for a 2 hour low vision evaluation with a low vision specialist.  We hope to gain more insight on "tools" to help Audrey enhance her learning.

We went to a Spring Hill faculty dodge ball fundraiser in the gymnasium friday night - which we don't go to many "busy/active" places like that too often.  It was very apparent she was over stimulated and had no idea how to handle or process her surroundings.  It made me sad for her.  She just wanted me to hold her.  She did a lot of crying and clinging.  I am wondering about "sensory" diagnosis of some sort.  I am not looking for another label and not even sure who would be the one to diagnose it officially - just on my radar screen after Friday night.

Her therapist and preschool teacher witnessed this which I am happy they did.  In fact, her preschool teacher will attend the low vision evaluation on Friday with us.  I think having a professional with the vocabulary, experience and insight that is intimately experienced with Audrey is very important to have help relay information to Dr. Lawrence!

Please keep her in your prayers.  A new website launched yesterday with more information on her condition - www.ocularmotorapraxia.org

UPDATE: Nothing significant came from the Low Vision Evaluation.  Audrey truly is doing remarkable and we are very proactive in getting her in front of the appropriate professionals and I am grateful to be surrounded by amazing resources and support.  We will continue to do so!!!
