SORRY for the delay on the post and pictures. I've been a little busy these last few days and for some reason Seph nor mom could not figure out how to post a blog. In their defense, the internet connection at the hospital was hit or miss and they were busy doing a wonderful job taking care of me and Emily Jo!
We are now at home as of 1pm this afternoon and we are doing pretty well. I'll be a little slow moving these next few weeks, but will manage with mom near by after Seph returns to work later this week. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and wishes!!!
For those who haven't heard how it all went down: I went into labor on my own about 1am on Thursday morning. We got admitted to the hospital about 6:30am (about 12 hours earlier than our planned induction). I labored for 22 hours - got an epidural about 2pm. Unfortunately however after all that laboring I began to swell back up and Emily started going back up! Fortunately, she was NEVER in distress and all was "calm" when it was decided a c-section would be best for the both of us. She was born at 11:42PM on 10/9/08 weighing 7lbs 14oz and 18" long. She is absolutely beautiful and we are on cloud NINE!
It was discovered by my doctor during the c-section that I have a "shallow" pelvis and a baby's head will never be able to successfully pass through :( Next time it will be planned and not another long drawn out ordeal. I apologize for any miscommunication that may or may not have been received during the day on thursday - it was a LONG day, but WELL WORTH IT! God has blessed us!
