I have said this every trip over to Asia, but now being with my husband is even more true! Having this "adult time" with my parents and Seph is very special. I miss our girls of course, but knowing they are in good hands eases my mind.
Showing Seph the Japanese culture has him convinced Americans need to take some notes and change our ways. From taking shoes off at home and (some) restaurants to bowing you through a construction zone and constantly sweeping the streets - they are very clean and courteous. We have been adventurous in trying new eats (him more so than me). Neither of us may ever eat anything soybean related again. Every traditional Japanese meal seems to contain fermented soy which has a God awful smell to it. YUK!
Yesterday we explored Mt. Takao and ate at a top restaurant with traditional food. Unfortunately there was only one coarse we enjoyed. However, it was truly the BEST KOBE beef we have ever had! Seph was amazed of the difference from the U.S. standards. It was cool to see him SO blown away by the flavor and tenderness of this mea!
We have done of of shopping too - just hit up the Japanese store uni-glo; full of just basics. Got stocked up :). FUN!
