Emily Jo had some "stomach issues / bug" thing for about 3 or 4 days. Then Audrey started. So, for 2 weeks now I have been dealing with 4-6 nasty nasty diapers a day. Of course, we have done the BRAT diet, probiotics etc. etc. I threw the towel in with this issue yesterday and took her to the doctor (after several calls/consults of course). She is down about a pound and half to two and a half pounds (depending on clothes, timing of the weight etc). They are running the full gamete of stool tests on her AND referred her onto an immunologist. We hope to get in before the year end and have a full blood work up completed. Please pray for normalcy on all accounts. She has just been such a sick baby since birth, but I know it could be much worse so I am trying to keep it all in perspective. I feel like I spend more time at the doctor than I do at work! Seriously, I think we have a record on the number of doctor visits this year!
Aside from the stomach issues we naturally have that winter cough, snotty, congestion stuff as well = no full nights sleep exist around here! Had Emily Jo to the doctor for her reactive airway disease on Monday and started inhaler treatments for that as she was up coughing and throwing up last weekend. Hahaha - the jokes on us I guess!
We also had Audrey's 6 month follow up with the neurologist 2 weeks ago and unfortunately learned we had a misunderstanding with the genetic test results. Using the analogy of an encyclopedia set - we have only checked that Audrey has all the volumes and chapters. They are still conducting further tests for errors or duplications within the sentences, so to speak. The completion of these tests can take another 6months to a year. This testing is only part of the study we enrolled her in and is not commercially available. The specifics of it all are way over our heads so this analogy helped "dummify" for us and has us back to square one on the genetics. If an "error" is located then blood will then be collected from Seph and me for further studies....stay tuned.
THE GOOD NEWS? Audrey's gross motor development has blossomed! She is up and down the stairs like a pro! Transferring from the coffee table to couch and becoming very stable while standing (although not QUITE on her own yet). Her therapists and even neurologist predict she'll be walking on her own by 18 months of age! We can't wait!
