Audrey starts preschool and more!

Audrey was "approved" to start preschool at Spring Hill Elementary two weeks ago.  She is in a class with 13 other kids Monday thru Thursday from 8 to 11am.  There's a special Ed teacher and four paras in the classroom.  She gets one on one speech therapy for 15 minutes every day.  She absolutely LOVES it!  We are extreme thankful that our dear friends, Rena and Hanna are helping with the move from school to daycare.  Kids R Kids is out of the school district so the bus system cannot take her.  We are not going to move her until we know where we might land come August and longer term (more on that later).
But for now Audrey takes the yellow bus to school (it picks her up at 7:15) and she IS buckled in a 5 point harness!  Audrey will have another evaluation on March 6th.  This time it will be with a low vision specialist (Dr. Lawrence out of Salina) and at the Kansas School for the Blind).  This evaluation will help give insight on necessary and/or useful devices or learning tools to help Audrey advance as normal as possible with her piers.  Her IEP (individualized education plan) will be reviewed annually and be in place for as long as - we as parents - deem it to benefiting her.
I am on cloud nine and couldn't be more pleased with the resources I have sought out and fought to get.  After two quick weeks with her enrolled in preschool I can see she is benefitting greatly.  Her sentence structure and sentence length has been the area of most improvement thus far.
