Urgent Care Visit TWIST!

This little toodle bug always keeps us on our toes.  Last night her and a girlfriend collided foreheads pretty hard, causing lots of tears and this little bump on the noggin.  She did complain of being tired and wanting to go to sleep (but she probably was).  At 10pm she woke up violently throwing up...for about 20 minutes.  Shaking, but no fever.  Hmm - one (experienced) mom would think concussion right?  Not me.  Back to bed she went with another briefer bout around midnight.

Then this morning I got to thinking - I bet she has a concussion!!!!  One would think, DUH?!?  Her appetite and mood were unchange and she was her normal self!  A call to our "family" doctor led us to error on the side of caution....steering us to the ER or at minimum urgent care to get assessed.  

The Doctor was great and super understanding of our concerns (and delay)...somewhat.  Of course, had I thought of this at 10pm last night we would have been in ER all night getting a CAT scan. But it NEVER even crossed my mind.  We blamed too many sweets (cake, ice cream and candy from kids r kids party)!

SO....one look in her throat led to the question, has she complained about her throat?  Nope.  Well it's pretty red and swollen.  Might be reason to test for STREP??!!  Uh - ok, sure...I guess!

And so that came back positive!  Easing our minds of possible concussion and off to Walgreens for amoxicillin:). Keeping is on our toes!  That's all folks!
